In the darkest corners of the world
Lies a silent threat unfurled
Weapons of destruction,
Wrapped in the cloak of religion
Used to sow chaos and discord
In the name of some twisted accord
Sealed with the stamp of faith
They preach violence and hate
A peremptory call to arms
That sounds the alarm
For those who seek peace
Their actions never cease
In the name of a higher power
They rain down death like a shower
On innocent souls who wander
Lost in a world torn asunder
By the fires of war
Lit by weapons afar
Neighbors turned enemies
By the hand of those who seize
The power of destruction
In the name of some twisted construction
Of peace and stability
Built on a foundation of futility
What do they offer in return
For the lives they burn?
Not peace, nor solace
But a world filled with malice
A history stained with blood
From weapons that flood
The streets of our cities
Turning them into ditties
Of sorrow and despair
As we gasp for air
In a world choked by smoke
From the weapons they provoke
The judges of the world
Must surely be appalled
The devastation wrought
Of the weapons they have bought
In the name of security
They bring only impurity
The tragedy of our time
Is not in some godly chime
But in the hands of those
Who choose to oppose
The sanctity of life
With weapons of strife
Let us not be fooled.
By the lies they have pooled
In the name of religion
They sow division
And spread fear and hate
With weapons sealed by fate
But we must stand tall.
And refuse to fall
To the despair, they spread
As we mourn the dead
Let us rise above
And reject their twisted love
For in the end
It is not weapons we must defend
But the sanctity of life
Free from the strife
Of those who seek power
In this dark hour
So let us unite
And stand up to fight
Against the weapons of war
That darkens our shore
For in the end
It is the peace we must defend.
